Offline maps
How do I download and activate an offline map?
Open the Maps tab in the app, choose a map pack, and tap Download. When it finishes, tap Activate Offline Map. If a download is interrupted, retry to resume it.
Which contour interval should I choose?
Closer contour lines show more terrain detail and require larger downloads. Choose based on available storage and your trip; 50 m is compact, 20 m is standard, and 10 m has finer detail.
Why is my map blank or missing some layers?
Check that the map pack is downloaded and activated and that your location is within its coverage. Some packs do not include slope shading or detailed buildings at the highest zoom level. Test the map offline before leaving.

Location and track recording
Will track recording continue when I lock my phone?
For background recording, set Aki Map's location permission to Always in iOS Settings. Start GPS and wait for a stable accuracy reading before you leave. Recorded tracks are saved in the Tracks tab.
Where are my tracks, GPX routes, and photos stored?
They stay on your phone by default and are not uploaded to our servers. Export GPX files for backup or enable iCloud sync in Settings to sync supported data through your own iCloud account.

How do I import a GPX route?
Use the import button in the Tracks tab or open a GPX file from the iOS Files or Share menu and choose Aki Map.

Search, weather, and printing
Why can't I find a mountain or place?
Search uses mountain points of interest in your active offline map pack. Download and activate a map pack first. Search results include coordinates, elevation, source, and update date.
Can I print a map or export a PDF?
Yes. Activate an offline map, tap the print button, select an area and scale, then export the PDF for printing or sharing.
TRIP SHARING
Trip Sharing
How does Trip Sharing work?
Create a trip in the app and send its private link to someone you trust. When location and network access are available, the app uploads your location at the time or distance interval you choose (about every 10 minutes by default). The page shows the last successfully uploaded location and does not notify anyone automatically. Location data is uploaded only after you review and consent to the in-app notice.

Safety and subscriptions
Does an emergency check-in automatically alert rescuers?
No. Check-in reminders are an aid and do not dispatch rescue. In an emergency, call 119 or 112.
How do I restore a purchase?
Tap Restore Purchases in the app and make sure you are signed in to the same Apple account used for the purchase. Subscription details are shown by the App Store. Never send us your Apple password or payment information.
